Time Appointments are proud to be working on behalf of a well-established Construction Company based in Essex, who are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their team.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Commercial team, supporting site and contracts teams to ensure the profitable and efficient delivery of projects.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Demonstrable experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a subcontractor environment
  • Sound technical knowledge of brickwork, masonry, or closely related trades (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of UK construction contracts
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation capabilities, with an eye for detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Packages, and construction accounts management software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accurate tender and contract documents, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • Ensuring on-going compliance with quality, safety and environmental objectives
  • On-site measurement and measurement of drawings
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control
  • On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
  • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Analysing sub-contractors' quotations
  • Accurate preparation and agreement of variation accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts
  • Preparing and issuing certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
