They have a strong focus on commercially viable, policy-led design and are continuing to grow their in-house architectural capability.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Architect to take ownership of projects and play a key role in the delivery of residential and mixed-use schemes.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Lead projects through RIBA Stages 0-3, from feasibility and concept design through to planning submission.
Develop site layouts, housing mix strategies and masterplans.
Work closely with planning teams to ensure designs are policy-compliant and commercially viable.
Liaise with developers, land agents, consultants and local authorities.
Lead and mentor junior members of the design team.
Produce and coordinate high-quality planning-stage drawings.
Balance creativity, planning policy, commercial requirements and buildability.
Take ownership of projects and contribute to the continued growth of the wider design team.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
ARB registration / Part III qualification with significant post-qualification experience.
Strong experience working on residential and/or mixed-use developments.
Proven experience taking projects through RIBA Stages 0-3.
Experience working with housing developers, house builders or land agents.
A strong understanding of UK planning policy and the residential development process.
Excellent design and technical knowledge.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to lead projects and mentor more junior designers.
A commercially aware and proactive approach to design.
Salary & Benefits
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy where you'll have genuine ownership of projects and the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the design team. The business offers a collaborative environment, professional development opportunities and the chance to work on a varied portfolio of residential and mixed-use schemes.
