Architect - Residential

Job Description A growing, commercially-minded design consultancy is on the hunt for an Architect to strengthen its Residential team in Colchester. Join a business that's scaling quickly, with planning and technical specialists working side-by-side on housing projects that range from small, characterful sites to major strategic developments spanning the country.

As an Architect, you'll take ownership of planning layouts and masterplan proposals for a client base that spans private developers through to well-renowned house builders. Your work will largely sit at RIBA stages 0-3, shaping schemes from initial concept through to a robust, submission-ready package. Expect close day-to-day involvement with colleagues across planning and technical disciplines as projects move from feasibility to consent.

• ARB/RIBA Qualfied Architect
• Solid track record designing residential & masterplan schemes
• Hands-on experience delivering work for house builder clients
• A confident grasp of planning policy across the UK
• A knack for balancing creative ambition with commercial reality and policy compliance
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating design intent clearly
• Proficiency with AutoCAD & Sketch Up

This is a business investing heavily in its people and its pipeline of work. Beyond the day-to-day project delivery, there's real scope to shape how the design team develops as the company continues to expand - plus exposure to a genuinely varied residential project list rather than repetitive, single-type schemes. If residential master planning is your specialism and you're ready for a fresh challenge with a consultancy on the rise, get in touch to find out more.
