Seeking a Learning and Behaviour Mentor for a SEMH school.
OverviewThis role is for a learning support assistant/teaching assistant to join a pupil referral unit across two separate sites in Colchester, specialising in children with social, emotional, mental health needs. No prior experience is required, but a passion for special needs and a desire to support vulnerable adults is essential.
Responsibilities- Work with children who have social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Build strong relationships and rapport with individual children.
- Support learning and behaviour development in a positive, friendly environment.
- Maintain a robust and supportive character in challenging situations.
- Social care background or personal experience supporting SEND.
- Strong drive and commitment to working with special needs children.
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (public transport is limited).
Full-time, 5 days a week, 8:30am‑15:30pm.
