A driven and high-performing secondary school in Colchester is seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Mathematics to start in April Term paying to scale
.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maths teacher with strong leadership skills, or an ambitious second-in-department ready to take the next step, to drive excellence and raise attainment across KS3-KS4
.

The Role
  • Lead and manage the Mathematics' department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement a challenging, knowledge-rich Maths curriculum
  • Monitor pupil progress and implement strategies to raise achievement
  • Support, coach, and develop members of the Maths team
  • Analyse data to inform intervention and curriculum planning
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement and strategic planning
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
  • Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level (KS3 and KS4)
  • A track record of strong pupil outcomes
  • Leadership experience or clear readiness for middle/senior leadership
  • Excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
  • A passion for inspiring confidence and resilience in Mathematics
