About the Role

Protocol Education are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work full-time in a welcoming primary school in Colchester. This role involves supporting a KS1 child with Autism (ASD) on a 1:1 basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about SEN support, helping a child to thrive both academically and socially within a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with ASD
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support the child’s emotional regulation and social development
  • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and behaviour plans
  • Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD
  • Understanding of KS1 curriculum (desirable)
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
