Lecturer – Beauty Therapy

29.5 hours per week (part time), Permanent.

FTE £32,227.00 – £35,228.44, Actual: £25,694.49 – £28,087.52 per annum

Colchester and Braintree Campus

• Teach across a range of Beauty Therapy programmes, delivering high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Undertake course leadership responsibilities within Beauty Therapy and carry out associated administrative duties as directed by the Head of Salon Studies.
• Support the effective management and administration of the Beauty Therapy curriculum.
• Provide guidance and support to students with assessment planning, subject delivery, and achievement of learning outcomes.
• Monitor and maintain the quality and standards of students’ work in line with awarding body requirements and College expectations.
• Contribute to marketing, recruitment, and publicity activities, including promotional events and open days where required.
• Adhere to and actively promote the College’s policies and practices relating to Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, Health and Safety.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student success and wellbeing.

• Experience of working in the Beauty Therapy industry.
• Experience of teaching, training and assessing to groups of learners.
• An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to creating a safe learning environment.
• An awareness of the importance of Equality & Diversity.

• Good level of general education including a minimum of GCSE grades 9-4 in Maths and English or equivalent.
• Level 3 Qualification in beauty therapy including electrical treatments.
• Assessors award or equivalent.
• Certificate in Education or equivalent, or the willingness to obtain one in post.
