We are working with a well‑regarded Secondary School in Colchester, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant. This Colchester school is committed to delivering high‑quality education, supporting student achievement, and providing aspiring teachers with valuable school‑based experience.

Job Overview
  • Full‑time role, Monday – Friday as a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant.
  • Support students in Mathematics lessons across KS3‑KS4.
  • Deliver targeted one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions to raise attainment.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons.
  • Help students develop confidence, problem‑solving skills, and a positive attitude toward Mathematics.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Maths department and wider school team.
  • Contribute to intervention programmes and enrichment opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to engage, motivate, and support learners of varying abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
