Are you an experienced, patient and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference?
A welcoming primary school in Romford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 child with autism from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant with strong autism support experience who is passionate about inclusive education and helping children thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide tailored 1:1 support. You will help the child access learning, build confidence, manage routines and develop positive relationships throughout the school day.
The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant with:- Previous experience supporting children with autism
- Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, LSA, 1:1 Teaching Assistant or similar
- Confidence supporting children with communication, sensory or emotional regulation needs
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Experience following EHCP targets or personalised support plans would be desirable
- A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs succeed
This SEN Teaching Assistant role would suit someone who has worked in a primary school, specialist provision, nursery, care setting or similar child-focused environment. Autism experience is essential, and candidates must be confident providing consistent 1:1 support.
