We are seeking a Job Coach to join our team.

In this role you will support Foundation and Supported Learning students in developing the employability skills, confidence, and workplace behaviours needed for successful progression into employment or further study. They will manage, coordinate, and deliver high-quality one-to-one and small group support for learners undertaking work experience placements, ensuring each placement provides meaningful learning opportunities aligned with individual needs and aspirations.

Working collaboratively with employers, curriculum teams, and students, the postholder will secure and maintain effective placement opportunities, prepare learners for the workplace, and provide ongoing guidance and support throughout their placements. They will monitor students' progress, attendance, safety, and well-being through regular reviews and employer liaison, addressing any issues promptly to ensure positive outcomes. The successful candidate will foster strong partnerships with employers, promote inclusive employment opportunities, and contribute to the development of learners' independence, employability, and readiness for the world of work.

About the role:

Proactively source and secure work experience placements for students, collaborating with employers to ensure placements meet learners' needs and course requirements. Visit students at their work placements to monitor safety, well-being, and progress, providing ongoing support and guidance as necessary. Liaise with curriculum area heads, tutors, and employers to ensure smooth communication regarding placement expectations, learner progress, and any support needed.

Develop effective working relationships with employers to ensure placements meet student needs and expectations, ensuring students maximise opportunities for skill development. Complete all required paperwork for work experience placements, maintaining accurate records on student progress and placement details across all campuses Work with students to discuss appropriate placements based on course requirements, employer availability, and transportation limitations Provide tailored support for students with special education needs, ensuring they are adequately supported during their work experience placements.

Essential

Experience:

Experience of developing new relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Experience of working with young people with special educational needs and/or barriers to learning in a relevant setting.

Experience of working within a college setting.

Experience of using database systems.

Experience of working in a busy team environment, managing conflicting priorities.

Experience of following policies and procedures to process information and produce documents / materials to a high standard of presentation, accuracy, and speed.

Experience of providing a flexible, customer focused administrative service that meets the requirements of all stakeholders. Essential

Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4 or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent Why join us?
