We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching across Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy and inspire the next generation of practitioners. The role involves planning and delivering engaging, industry‑standard sessions, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting learners to achieve their goals.

• Deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment across Levels 1–3.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, learner progress and assessments in line with college policies.
• Provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback to support learner development.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and the creation of high‑quality teaching resources.
• Monitor learner progress through individual learning plans and proactive course management.
• Participate in the College’s quality assurance and improvement processes.
• Represent Colchester Institute at open evenings, career events and promotional activities.
• Maintain and update your professional knowledge and practical skills within the Beauty Therapy sector.
• Work in accordance with Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Health & Safety procedures.
• Undertake additional duties relevant to the role as required.

• Level 3 (or above) qualification in a relevant Beauty Therapy subject area.
• Minimum Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent).
• Teaching qualification, or willingness to complete one within three years.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, learner‑centred lessons.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

• Demonstrable experience working in the Beauty Therapy industry.
• Experience teaching, training and assessing to groups of learners.
• Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to creating a safe learning environment.
• Aware of the importance of Equality & Diversity.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with employers, customers, academic and support staff.
• Good administration and organisational skills.
• Experience producing publicity and promotional material.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including a minimum of one or two evenings.
