Lecturer – Health and Social CareHourly Paid, Part Time
35 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.
About the roleThis role requires an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer who will deliver high‑quality teaching across Further and Higher Education programmes. The lecturer will plan, prepare and deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences that promote academic excellence, student engagement and positive progression outcomes. In addition, the postholder will contribute to curriculum development, ensuring programme content is current and aligns with awarding organisation and institutional standards, create a supportive learning environment, assess and monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and inspire learners to achieve their full academic and professional potential.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, the lecturer will also contribute to quality assurance, curriculum enhancement, and the continuous improvement of teaching, learning and assessment across the provision.
- Comprehensive teaching responsibilities: designing schemes of work, assessing, preparing, delivering, marking, individual student tutoring.
- Designing, developing and reviewing curriculum materials in line with programme specifications and quality assurance frameworks.
- Delivering engaging and innovative teaching using a variety of pedagogical approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
- Assessing student work in accordance with established criteria and providing timely, constructive feedback to support progress and achievement.
- Monitoring and tracking student performance, implementing appropriate interventions where necessary.
- Contributing to quality improvement processes, including course review, standardisation, moderation and compliance activities.
- Continuously reflecting and improving the quality of teaching and learning within sessions, utilising and developing resources to support student achievement.
- Experience of working with young people.
- Teaching or delivering training experience.
- Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in the required subject or equivalent OR education to degree level and/or above in the required subject or equivalent.
- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.
