SEND Teacher – Lexden Hall School, Lexden Road, Colchester, Essex, CO3 3NE

Purpose of the Role

To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.

At Lexden Hall School

Lexden will shortly open its doors! This will be a specialist SEMH and Autism provision for pupils across Key Stages 2 to 4, focusing on those who have experienced school-based trauma, present with EBSNA profiles, or need something slightly different to help them reengage with education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach lessons, working with small groups and individual students for all core subjects across KS2
  • Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and encourage them to learn
  • Manage behaviour, mark work and talk to parents and carers about their children's progress
Requirements
  • Committed and passionate view of students with SEND
  • At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
  • QTS/QTLS is a requirement
