Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker

Location: Colchester

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £27,486 to £30,359 per annum (pro rata)

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a forward-thinking Multi Academy Trust to recruit an Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker. This exciting opportunity is part of an innovative outreach project supporting secondary schools across Mid and North East Essex, promoting inclusion, reducing permanent exclusions and helping young people overcome barriers to education through a compassionate, trauma‑informed approach.

The Trust is looking to appoint an Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker on a full‑time, term‑time only basis. The successful Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker will initially complete a 12‑week temporary placement through Teacher Active before transferring to the Trust for the remainder of the fixed‑term contract until 31st August 2028. Working across schools in Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester and Tendring, you will deliver tailored one‑to‑one and small group interventions, build strong relationships with pupils and school staff, and work independently to improve engagement, attendance and positive educational outcomes.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential due to the travel required across the region.

The successful Outreach, Engagement and Intervention Worker will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people to achieve positive educational and/or social outcomes
