Position: LSA with a Creative / Theatre / Artistic Background

Creative/Theatrical/Artistic Learning Support Assistant

Protocol Education is looking to recruit a Learning support assistant with a creative background to support in a SEND school in Colchester. The role allows for creativity in the classroom to inspire and encourage SEND students.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise pupils with SEND, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented.
  • Aid the execution of education plans suitable to each pupil's learning objectives.
  • Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
  • Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout the lessons.
  • Create an engaging and interesting environment for students.
  • Assist pupils with practical activities using a variety of teaching aids.
  • Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare.
  • Provide 1:1 support and create a positive atmosphere.
  • Use your creative background to uniquely support SEND children in ways only you can.
  • Support pupils with complex learning disabilities or behavioural support as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with SEND or experience working with children.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for education and creating an environment in which students can improve their studies.
  • Ability to use your creative nature to engage students, improve confidence, and positively influence a fun and supportive learning process.
  • Experience may come from youth groups, sports coaching, after school clubs, or similar settings.

Employment Details

This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
