Vision for Education is looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to work within a welcoming and supportive specialist setting in Colchester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them achieve their individual goals in a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
- Develop and implement personalised learning strategies to support academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
- Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and other professionals to maximise pupil outcomes.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching methods to meet changing needs.
- Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive behaviour management strategies.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and follow all school policies and statutory requirements.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or complex learning difficulties.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
