Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work with Energy on the GGP (ATNC) Norwich – based out of Holton-St-Mary, Colchester CO7 6NW
.
Murphy delivers Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects and technical solutions across the conventional power and energy transition markets.
Responsibilities- Encourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team
- Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
- Compose internal commercial reporting and any other required reports
- Develop valuations/applications for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
- Construct cost reports for the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
- Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
- Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
- Use cost allocation/coding to satisfy both internal and external requirements
- Measure quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required
- Engage positively with the client equivalent position and develop, motivate & manage entry‑level staff
- BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying (or equivalent qualification)
- Strong civil and/or rail background (essential), preferably rail
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor looking to step up
- Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership
- Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement
- Strong communication skills in presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others
- Full driving licence and flexible with travel
