Senior Civil Engineer

Senior Civil Engineer Portsmouth £50,000 £ 60,000 (DOE)  Benefits Full-Time / Permanent (Hybrid Working) Youll be joining a growing civil engineering consultancy that delivers development-led infrastructure projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes. The team is expanding due to sustained project wins, creating a genuine opportunity for someone who wants ownership, progression and a varied workload. YOUR NEW ROLE Lead the design of drainage, highways, external works and development infrastructure Oversee projects from early feasibility through planning and technical approval Coordinate with internal disciplines, external consultants and project stakeholders Review and sign off technical designs, drawings and reports Mentor junior engineers and support capability development within the team Prepare fee proposals and contribute to client relationship management Attend meetings and occasional site visits as required ABOUT YOU Degree or HND in Civil Engineering IEng or working towards (desirable) 5 years experience in a consultancy environment Strong background in development infrastructure design Proficient with AutoCAD and 3D design software (Site3D, Civil 3D or similar) Solid understanding of SuDS, Building Regulations, MfS, DMRB and relevant standards WHAT YOU BRING Confident technical judgement and problem-solving ability Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to manage deadlines, budgets and multiple live projects Calm, organised and commercially aware approach Commitment to CPD and continuous improvement SALARY & BENEFITS £50,000 £ 60,000 (DOE) Performance-related bonus Hybrid working (typically 2 days from home) Private healthcare scheme 24 days holiday  bank holidays (increasing with service) Flexible working hours Free on-site parking This is a role where youll genuinely own your projects, influence technical direction and work across a diverse portfolio of schemes, all within a supportive, collaborative team that values progression and autonomy.
