We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the beginning of their finance career, or looking to develop existing experience, who is eager to learn, grow and gain hands‑on exposure across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management.
Working closely with experienced finance professionals, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to‑day financial operations of the business. You'll gain valuable experience processing transactions, managing reconciliations, supporting month-end activities and working with colleagues across the organisation, while developing the skills and knowledge needed to build a successful career in finance.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our Finance team, you'll play an important role in helping to ensure our financial processes run efficiently, accurately and on time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing supplier invoices and ensuring transactions are coded accurately.
- Supporting the management of employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations.
- Assisting with customer invoicing, credit notes and account queries.
- Supporting bank reconciliations and cash management activities.
- Communicating with colleagues, suppliers and customers to help resolve finance-related queries.
- Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Assisting with finance improvement projects and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to support financial operations.
- Continuously developing your finance knowledge and skills.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Confidence working with data, numbers and spreadsheets.
- A proactive approach and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
It would be advantageous, but not essential, if you have:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or administration role.
- Experience using finance or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or reconciliation processes.
- AAT studies or an interest in pursuing a finance qualification.
