PCN Appeals Officer Local Authority | Wembley | Office Based £21.35 per hour PAYE / £28.11 per hour Umbrella Wembley Fully Office Based Immediate Start Available Temporary Assignment Until May 2027 A busy London Local Authority is seeking an experienced PCN Appeals Officer to join their Parking Services team on a long-term temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled parking professional with previous experience handling Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) appeals and representations within a local authority environment.

The Role You will be responsible for investigating and responding to formal and informal challenges against Penalty Charge Notices, ensuring all cases are considered fairly, accurately and in accordance with relevant legislation and council policies. Working within a fast-paced team, you will manage a caseload of appeals, review supporting evidence and prepare detailed written responses while ensuring service standards and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities Assess and determine informal and formal representations against PCNs. Review case files, photographic evidence, CEO notes and supporting documentation. Draft clear, accurate and legally compliant appeal responses. Ensure decisions are made in line with parking legislation, regulations and council policies. Manage a high-volume caseload within agreed timescales. Maintain accurate records and case management information. Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders where required.

Support the preparation of cases for independent adjudication where necessary. About You Previous PCN Appeals experience is essential. Applicants must have:
Experience working as a PCN Appeals Officer, Parking Appeals Officer or within a similar parking enforcement role. Strong knowledge of parking legislation, PCN processing and appeals procedures. Experience assessing challenges, representations and supporting evidence. Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills. Ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritise effectively. Strong administrative and case management experience. Confidence working within a target-driven environment.
