Job Overview

Position:
Clinical Deputy Manager – Colonia Court Care Home

Location:

Colchester, CO4 3AN

Salary: £41,017 – £53,934 per annum (dependent on experience)

Type:
Permanent – Full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, occasional night visits or weekend work may be required)

Welcome Bonus: £2,000 (subject to completion of four weeks of service and deductions for tax and NI)

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and assist all aspects of nursing care and activities within the home
  • Create and update individual care plans for residents, maintaining clear, accurate and up-to-date medication records
  • Ensure correct staffing levels are maintained through efficient management of rotas
  • Provide day‑to‑day support and guidance to the team, promoting residents’ independence, choice and dignity
  • Build lasting relationships with residents, families and the care home, fostering a sense of community
  • Liaise with local partners to raise the care home’s profile in the area and beyond
  • Assist another clinical deputy manager as required
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN and a genuine commitment to the NMC Codes of Conduct
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of tissue viability, infection control and care planning
  • Effective communicator capable of building strong, honest relationships with residents and their families
  • Natural leader, able to share clinical experience, lead and mentor a team, delegate effectively and promote excellent customer service
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Respectful and compassionate team player who believes in giving a personal best
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
