Complex Home Care Support Worker

£16.00 per hour PAYE | 08:30-18:30 | Frating, Colchester (CO7) | Driver Required

Nurs Link Homecare is looking for a Complex Care Support Worker to provide 1:1 care to our client in their own home in Frating, Colchester
.

This rewarding opportunity will be perfect for an experienced Support Worker who is confident providing personalised care at home, and supporting someone with complex health and mobility needs.

You will provide 1:1 support throughout the day, helping the client remain comfortable, safe and as independent as possible at home and in the community.

The client has cognitive impairment, reduced mobility and dysphagia
, with a modified diet required. They also have a PEG
, which is used for hydration and medication when they are unwell or their cognition is reduced.

They fatigue easily, so care needs to be paced carefully with regular opportunities to rest.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing personal care and continence support
• Supporting with transfers and mobility
• Following physiotherapy guidance and safe manual handling procedures
• Supporting with meal preparation and modified diets
• Providing PEG care for hydration and medication when required
• Monitoring for changes in respiratory health and signs of chest infections
• Supporting wheelchair use and accompanying the client when out in the community
• Carrying out daily skin checks and preventative skincare
• Monitoring the PEG site and skin for signs of infection or damage
• Providing patient, respectful and person-centred support throughout the day

Two people are required for safe transfers
, with all moving and handling carried out in line with the client’s care plan and physiotherapy guidance.

We’re looking for a reliable and compassionate Support Worker who is comfortable working in a 1:1 complex care environment.

Previous experience in complex care would be beneficial, particularly experience with:

• PEG care
• Dysphagia and modified diets
• Personal care
• Manual handling and mobility support
• Cognitive impairment
• Wheelchair users
• Respiratory monitoring
• Skin integrity and pressure area care

You must also be a driver
, as there is no public transport available to the area.

08:30-18:30, Monday to Sunday
