Commercial Property Legal Assistant Our client, a well-established law firm in the Top Legal 500 based in Colchester, is recruiting for an organised and detail-focused Commercial Property Legal Assistant .
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected and supportive team, where you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional legal support to the Commercial Property Team.
The Role
- Providing support to the team with a strong emphasis on document production, including formatting, proofreading
- Preparing and amending contracts, agreements, leases and correspondence with accuracy and professionalism
- Applying for Land Searches
- Track changes
- Opening new client files, conducting AML checks, preparing initial documents, and closing files in line with the firm’s procedures and compliance standards
- Maintaining well-organised case files using client management software and ensuring all documents are handled and stored in accordance with compliance and regulatory standards
- Supporting Solicitors with general administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and billing
- Managing diaries, arranging meetings, and coordinating travel plans for multiple solicitors
- Communicate with clients, colleagues, and external parties, maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Regular telephone contact with clients and professional contacts
- Assist fee earners in the maintenance of time recording
- File and case management, bill preparation
Experience required:
- This role would suit an experienced Commercial Property Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant or Paralegal candidates with Residential Property experience will also be considered
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word, and quick to learn new systems and legal software
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong document production and formatting Skills, with a high standard of spelling, grammar, and presentation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, exceptional attention to detail
