Water Resources Manager – 32733 – Environment Agency

We are seeking an inspiring leader to champion health, safety, and wellbeing while driving the operational delivery of a national water resources service. You will lead a team of 70+ technical experts, manage key programmes, and support the wider Operations Catchment Services Leadership Team.

• Develop and deliver national water resources services, including statutory Water Resource Management Plans.
• Provide expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources.
• Manage programmes to deliver sustainable abstraction and drought planning/management.
• Develop talent and skills in water planning.
• Lead national modelling for water resources and groundwater.

• Lead departmental operational delivery, ensuring resources are used effectively and priorities are met.
• Champion health, safety, and wellbeing throughout the team.
• Develop an inclusive, open culture where all team members can thrive.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with a strong customer focus and influencing skills.
• Strategically analyse complex, integrated business challenges, simplify where possible, and focus on delivering the most important outcomes.
• Maintain a working knowledge of water resources management and the broader environmental, political, economic, and technical pressures on the sector.
