Water Resources Manager – 32733 – Environment Agency
We are seeking an inspiring leader to champion health, safety, and wellbeing while driving the operational delivery of a national water resources service. You will lead a team of 70+ technical experts, manage key programmes, and support the wider Operations Catchment Services Leadership Team.
Job Overview- Develop and deliver national water resources services, including statutory Water Resource Management Plans.
- Provide expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources.
- Manage programmes to deliver sustainable abstraction and drought planning/management.
- Develop talent and skills in water planning.
- Lead national modelling for water resources and groundwater.
- Lead departmental operational delivery, ensuring resources are used effectively and priorities are met.
- Champion health, safety, and wellbeing throughout the team.
- Develop an inclusive, open culture where all team members can thrive.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with a strong customer focus and influencing skills.
- Strategically analyse complex, integrated business challenges, simplify where possible, and focus on delivering the most important outcomes.
- Maintain a working knowledge of water resources management and the broader environmental, political, economic, and technical pressures on the sector.
- Proven leadership experience and a passion for developing people.
- Excellent stakeholder management, customer focus and influencing skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to simplify complex issues.
