Job Title: Regional Audit RI

Location: Colchester

Salary: £130,000

: PR/075055

Overview

We are supporting a growing professional services firm in the appointment of a Regional Audit (RI) to help lead and develop its audit offering across East Anglia. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility spanning multiple offices in the region, offering the opportunity to shape the direction of the audit service line while playing a central role in a wider growth strategy.

Working alongside existing Audit RIs, the role will focus on driving audit quality, service delivery and strategic direction across the region. While flexibility is offered around working location through a hybrid model, the role is best suited to someone based in or around the Colchester or Ipswich area, with the ability to travel across the region as required.

This position blends technical excellence with leadership, client engagement and people development. The successful individual will be a visible presence within the audit practice, trusted by both clients and colleagues. There is a clearly defined progression pathway for those with ambition, with scope to move into broader regional leadership and, in time, equity partnership.

The role sits within a wider network of Audit Responsible Individuals, supported by a central audit and compliance function. This provides the autonomy to manage and develop a regional audit portfolio while benefiting from strong technical oversight, shared best practice and the infrastructure of a larger group.

The role will also involve managing, mentoring and developing audit teams across the region, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality and continuous improvement. A proactive approach to identifying opportunities to add value will be expected, whether through audit insights, advisory input or practical solutions that support client growth. In addition, the role will contribute to business development activity and play an active part in driving audit strategy, particularly around the effective use of audit technology and process efficiencies, while maintaining best practice.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold RI status and bring substantial UK SME audit experience, with at least eight to ten years spent in practice. ACA or ACCA qualification is required, alongside strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, IFRS and ISAs. A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels are essential. Due to the regional nature of the role, a full driving licence and access to a car are required.
