Domus Recruitment are working with an established elderly care provider who are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join the management team of a well-established care home in the Colchester area.

This is a key role working closely alongside a very experienced Home Manager, supporting with the day-to-day running of the service, staff management, quality and compliance as well as the commercial performance of the home.

The home has a really settled, family feel with a long-standing management team and a culture where residents, relatives and staff are very much part of the wider home community.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the service
Leading, supporting and developing the staff team
Maintaining high standards of care, quality and compliance
Supporting with staffing, rotas, supervision and performance management
Ensuring the service remains compliant with CQC requirements
Supporting occupancy and the commercial performance of the home
Building strong relationships with residents, relatives and external professionals
Supporting safeguarding, audits, care planning and risk management
Deputising for the Home Manager when required
Helping to maintain the positive culture and stability already established within the home

The successful candidate will need:

Ideally at least 2 years' experience within a Deputy Manager position in an elderly care environment
NVQ Level 4 or above in Health & Social Care
A good understanding of the operational and commercial running of a care home
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance
Experience leading and developing care teams
Good communication and people management skills
A stable employment history and demonstrable commitment to previous employers
A hands-on, team-focused approach to management

The role is 40 hours per week, working one weekend on / one weekend off, with a salary of £40,000 and 28 days' paid holiday.

This would suit an experienced Deputy Manager looking to join a stable service where they can work alongside an established Home Manager and have genuine involvement across both the care and commercial sides of running the home.
