Prime Appointments have an exciting new role! We are currently recruiting on behalf of a market leader in their field based in Colchester, Essex

We are looking for a Stores Operative who has previous experience as a Stores Operative or in a similar role .

This is a perfect opportunity to join a company permanent basis, who can also offer on-going training & progression.

Duties of the Stores Operative will include;

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods for quantity and quality, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Organise and store items in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and conduct regular inventory counts.
  • Prepare orders for distribution, including picking, packing, and labelling items.
  • Assist with deliveries and logistics, coordinating with transport services as needed.
  • Keep the storage area clean, safe, and organised, complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory shortages to management.
  • Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and managing inventory.
  • Careful recording of serial no's
  • Issuing & booking in production orders with our MRP system.

The ideal Stores Operative applicant;

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or certifications in logistics or inventory management is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a Store Person or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
  • Good communication skills to interact with team members and management.
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.

Pay, Hours & Benefits;

  • 25 days plus bank holiday
  • 37 hours per week flextime (core hours 8am - 4:45pm Mon-Thur, 8am-1pm Fri)
