Workshop Maintenance Technician

Circa £40,000 - £46,000 per annum (Dependent on Skills & Experience)
Permanent, Full time, with flexibility for part time / 37 hours per week over 5 days Mon-Fri

As a Maintenance Workshop Technician, you’ll be responsible for designing, machining, fabricating, and welding both new and existing assets to reduce operational costs and improve equipment reliability. You’ll work closely with the Workshop Team and internal customers to deliver high‑quality solutions, drive efficiencies, and support best practice across our operations.

• Carry out service, repair, refurbishment, and fabrication work on assets such as gearboxes, pumps, and screens.
• Machine new parts to required tolerances using lathes, milling machines, and drills.
• Design and fabricate bespoke parts as required.
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend solutions for recurring equipment issues.
• Support performance monitoring and suggest process improvements.
• Deputise for the Maintenance Workshop Supervisor when required.
• Assist with workshop inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and policies.
• Mentor new employees and apprentices, sharing technical knowledge.

• Essential Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ level 2 or ONC/BTEC or City & Guilds Parts 2/3 (or equivalent).
• Essential Welding and fabrication experience on industrial plant and equipment.
• Essential Good knowledge of the maintenance and overhaul of industrial pumps, gearboxes, plant and equipment.
• Desirable Proven experience in an industrial/workshop environment – ideally machine shop trained – competent in using manual lathes, milling machines, radial drills.
• Desirable SAP and IRIS knowledge.
