What's the role?

To build different types of coil windings. Work as part of a team and closely to deliver quality transformer products on time and to manufacturing & design standards. Read engineering drawings, to build transformers, and to ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner as per the process requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding and working to engineering drawings and specifications, in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Carrying out inspections using calibration equipment as required.
  • Assembling and preparing units for testing.
  • Operating and controlling a coil winding machine.
  • Maintaining 5S standards and other housekeeping activities of winding shop area.
  • Ensuring process and quality control plans are filled in regularly and kept up to date.
  • Movement of materials & parts between areas.

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications
  • Engineering related apprenticeship would be an advantage.
  • Good standard of general education including GCSE passes in Maths and English or equivalent
Skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be prepared to learn and teach new skills as and when required.
  • Flexibility and have problem solving skills.
  • Analytical approach and practical skills.
  • Must be an excellent team player.
Experience
  • Relevant experience in working in a manufacturing environment.

We are a private, family owned engineering company founded in 1950's specialising in the design and manufacture of instrument transformers, both current and voltage transformers. Combined with the extensive design knowledge of instrument transformers this allowed the company to develop a reputation not only as a manufacturer of product, but also as the provider of a technical support service to guide and assist customers in the determination of the correct instrument transformer solution for their needs.
