Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people? At HCRG Care Group, were offering a wonderful opportunity to join our Children in Care Team within the Essex Child and Family Well-Being Service in North East Essex.

As a Children in Care Nurse, youll play a pivotal role in supporting some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our community, aged 019 years. With your expertise, youll ensure their health needs are met through statutory health assessments and by attending statutory reviews, fostering their well-being and resilience.

Please note the start date for this position will be from 4th January 2027. Interviews will be held on 7th and 9th October.

• Care Delivery:
  Lead and support statutory health assessments, ensuring sensitive, age-appropriate care that respects choice, culture, and diversity.
• Partnership Work:
  Collaborate with safeguarding teams, social care, foster carers, and other agencies to promote the health and well-being of children in care.
• Health Coordination:
  Oversee health reviews and assessments, ensuring timely completion and adherence to contractual agreements and legal frameworks.
• Clinical Expertise:
  Deliver evidence-based, high-quality nursing care to support healthy lifestyle choices and improve health outcomes for children in care.

• Conduct holistic health assessments and attend multi-agency meetings.
• Support access to appropriate health services within the community and secondary care.
• Escalate concerns to the Named Nurse for Children in Care as needed.
• Provide clinical guidance to colleagues while maintaining accountability standards..

• Support and deliver safeguarding and Children in Care training initiatives.
• Participate in appraisals, supervision, and reflective practice to support colleagues.
• Contribute to training evaluations and implement improvements.

• Assist in policy dissemination, case discussions, and monitoring of significant events.
• Contribute to audits and the development of safeguarding processes.

• Maintain competence through ongoing professional development and training.
• Engage in regular supervision to support personal and professional growth.

• Report to the Named Nurse for Children in Care and maintain accountability to the Managing Director/Business Unit Head.

• Registered on Part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register as a registered childrens nurse and/or Part 3 as a specialist community public health nurse.
