Health and Safety Manager
Location:
Colchester, Essex
Contract:
Full-time, Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: £25 - £30 per hour
Days /
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in the Colchester, Essex area.

About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of site compliance, drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture across the business.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
* Carry out risk assessments, workplace inspections and safety audits.
* Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
* Deliver Health & Safety inductions and ongoing employee training.
* Monitor and report Health & Safety KPIs and maintain statutory records.
* Manage contractor safety and permit-to-work systems.
* Coordinate emergency procedures, fire safety and evacuation drills.
* Support ISO 45001 compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors when required.
About You:
* NEBOSH National General Certificate is essential.
* Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
* Experience conducting risk assessments and accident investigations.
* Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
* Competent using Microsoft Office and producing reports.
* Competent in Microsoft such as Windows and Excel
* Previous management experience is a must
* Immediately available or available to start at short notice
* Must hold a full driving licence and have access to own vehicle – this is essential
