Transport Router

Role Overview

The Transport Router supports the Transport Team in planning and coordinating the logistics of waste collection and transportation activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient daily operations, accurate record-keeping, and high levels of customer satisfaction, while maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements.

• Schedule and coordinate daily waste collection routes to ensure efficient operations
• Liaise with drivers to communicate instructions, monitor progress, and resolve operational issues as they arise
• Handle customer enquiries related to transport services in a professional and timely manner
• Promote a positive health and safety culture by following procedures and participating in training and briefings
• Assist with weighbridge operations, including accurate documentation and waste transfer notes
• Represent the organisation professionally across all business activities

• Previous experience in transportation or logistics (experience within waste management is desirable but not essential)
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when responding to unexpected operational challenges
• Valid UK driving licence

• Based at a site in the Colchester area
• Full-time, permanent position
• Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime as required
