Salary: £16 per hour, weekly pay

Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 06:30 to 16:30

Our client, a local authority based in Colchester, is recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join their waste and recycling team. This role involves driving dustcarts on behalf of the council and is a great opportunity for Class 2 drivers looking for steady hours, weekly pay, and long term ongoing work within the public sector on a 4 day working week.

No previous dustcart or waste collection experience is required as full site induction and training will be provided.

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will play a key role in supporting essential local services by completing waste and recycling collections across the Colchester area. This is a hands on role where drivers are expected to work closely with the crew and assist with loading when required, so a positive and team focused attitude is essential.

• Driving an HGV Class 2 vehicle on planned local collection routes
• Operating dustcarts for council waste and recycling services
• Assisting loaders with collections when required
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Working in line with health and safety procedures at all times

• Valid HGV Class 2 Category C licence
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• No previous dustcart or refuse driving experience required
• Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for a hands on role
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
