Warehouse Operative - Temp to Perm

Location: Colchester
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Contract: Temp to Perm
Pay: 13ph - 14ph (DOE)

Prime Appointments are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a well-established Colchester-based business supplying a wide range of household, hardware and DIY products to customers across the UK.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for more than just their next warehouse job. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop within the business, with the role ultimately building towards a Team Leader position.

The Role

Working as part of a busy warehouse team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Picking customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Packing products carefully and securely ready for dispatch
  • Making sure orders are packed economically, using the correct amount of packaging and materials
  • Checking products and orders carefully, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ensuring goods are correctly labelled and prepared for dispatch
  • Keeping the warehouse organised, clean and tidy
  • Working as part of a team to achieve daily targets
  • Following warehouse processes and maintaining high standards at all times
  • Supporting other areas of the warehouse when required
  • Taking on additional responsibility and learning the processes required to progress into a Team Leader position

The Ideal Warehouse Operative Candidate

We are looking for someone who wants to build a career within a warehouse environment, rather than simply looking for a job.

You will ideally be:

  • Reliable, hardworking and consistent in your approach
  • Naturally organised with a strong eye for detail
  • Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly and to a high standard
  • A team player who is happy to support colleagues and get stuck in
  • Honest and accountable for your own work
  • Proactive and able to use your own judgement
  • Someone who looks for ways to work more efficiently rather than simply working harder
  • Comfortable working at pace while maintaining accuracy
  • Positive in your approach and willing to learn new skills
  • Ambitious to progress and take on greater responsibility
  • A forklift ticket would be an advantage, but is not essential
  • Knowledge of Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain process

The company places a strong emphasis on teamwork, reliability, high standards and working efficiently, so the right attitude is just as important as previous warehouse experience.

Why apply?

This is a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity with the chance to develop your skills and progress into a Team Leader role as you demonstrate your ability.

If you're looking for a role where hard work is recognised, development is encouraged and you can build a long-term career within a growing business, this could be the opportunity for you.
