The English Language Learning (ELL) department of the Vermont office of the USCRI is made up of qualified, dedicated, and caring teachers and volunteers who provide English language instruction to adult English language learning clients during their early years in the USA. The ELL program at USCRI Vermont has openings for on-call ELL teachers in Colchester and Rutland locations.

USCRI has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy. All employees must be fully vaccinated to work at any / all locations at USCRI.

• Teach twice weekly one-hour group classes for adult English language learners year-round, on-line via Zoom
• Teach in-person group classes at a variety of community locations
• Utilize established curriculum and textbook series as applicable
• Assist with course curriculum and materials development
• Create lesson plans, assignments, course syllabi, and outlines
• Leverage communicative language teaching methodologies to encourage a learner-centered environment that will empower students and ensure successful learning experiences
• Communicate with students utilizing Whats App and other communication tools
• Provide constructive feedback to students as needed
• Assess and evaluate student progress throughout the duration of their participation
• Other duties as assigned

• Master’s degree in TESOL or TESL or Applied Linguistics preferred; other educational backgrounds may be considered
• Teaching experience, particularly with adult English language learners, preferred; other applicable teaching experience may be considered
• On-line teaching experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, public speaking and web-based communication
• Ability to use technological tools including Zoom, Google Suite, Excel, Word, Whats App
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine required

• Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity
• Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying

• Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training
• Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources
