The Specialty Pharmacist services the needs of the UVMMC Specialty Pharmacy patients. The pharmacist will work in the Specialty Pharmacy and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve medication-related problems. Responsibilities include dispensing medication according to prescription orders, screening and resolving medication-related issues, addressing financial barriers, and counseling patients and healthcare professionals on proper medication use. The pharmacist will uphold good business practices and sound clinical judgment to ensure department success and positive patient outcomes.
Additionally, the pharmacist will triage and respond to questions related to specialty pharmacy prescriptions and prior authorizations.
- Pharm
D or B.S. Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy. - Licensed pharmacist in Vermont.
- Minimum one year experience in retail, mail-order, call center, specialty, or home infusion pharmacy within the past five years.
- Preferred:
Minimum one year experience in a health system pharmacy.
