Assistant General Manager – Urology, General Surgery & Gastro

We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to support operational delivery across Urology, General Surgery and Gastroenterology. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on challenge, and has strong experience in performance management within planned care environments. This is a cross-site role.
You will take responsibility for managing the PTL (Patient Tracking List), overseeing Cancer performance pathways, and leading complaint management responses within the services. Working closely with clinical, nursing, and administrative teams, you will ensure that patients receive timely and high-quality care, meeting national and organisational standards.
As a key member of the operational leadership team, you will contribute to service development, delivery of strategic goals, and maintaining financial performance. You will drive improvements in waiting times, pathway coordination and elective recovery, ensuring processes are fit-for-purpose and continually reviewed to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Main duties of the job- Ensure that service delivery standards are achieved (for instance, wait time milestones)
- Work collaboratively with the Divisional Director, Clinical Leads, other CDG leads Clinical Services, and other colleagues to ensure that service delivery and improvement plans are developed, implemented and reviewed
- Ensure that financial controls are established and maintained within the relevant clinical specialties
- Act as a champion for patient safety, operational effectiveness and quality
