Planner Planning Team

Join the Cold Lake Planning & Development team as a Planner in a 12-month term role. This position focuses on addressing urban planning challenges and implementing community development initiatives.

The Planner will engage in preparing and reviewing Municipal Development Plans, growth projections, and provide guidance to the public on planning matters. You will also manage subdivision processes and support the planning development process. Your expertise will play a vital role in Cold Lake’s ongoing growth and satisfaction of its residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and implement urban planning studies

• Facilitate and monitor subdivision processes and agreements

• Create and prepare statutory plans and reports

• Assist developers and the public with planning questions

• Attend and represent the City in meetings and workshops

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field

• RPP designation or membership with planners’ institute

• Minimum 2 years' applicable planning experience

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Ability to collaborate with a dedicated team
