Northern Lights Public Schools Invites Applications for the following position: C2627-14 English Generalist - Art Smith Aviation Academy

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position commencing at the beginning of the  school year at Art Smith Aviation Academy located on the 4 Wing Air Force Base in the City of Cold Lake. The Academy serves approximately 290 students from Kindergarten to Grade 9, offering a K‑9 English program and a K‑6 French Immersion program. It supports military dependents and the surrounding community.

Reporting Directly to the Principal, The Successful Candidate Will:

• Ensure effective planning, instruction, and assessment for students.
• Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Create classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes outlined in the Alberta Curriculum.
• Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population.
• Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community.
• Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the school community.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess The Following

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
• Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects is an asset.
• The ability to meet Alberta Education's Teaching Quality Standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement.
