ASSISTANT CUSTODIANPart-Time (0.50 FTE) | Assumption Junior/Senior High School Cold Lake, Alberta Lakeland Catholic School Division is seeking a 0.50 FTE Assistant Custodian to support the daily operations of Assumption Junior/Senior High School in Cold Lake, AB.Serving students in a junior and senior high school setting, this position requires a dependable individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful learning environment.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Head Custodian and school administration to support the overall care and upkeep of the school facility while contributing to a welcoming, faith-centred school community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, hallways, washrooms, offices, and common areas
Support routine custodial and light maintenance tasks, including floor care, waste removal, and restocking supplies
Assist with room setups and takedowns for school events and activities
Monitor building conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns as required
Follow established health, safety, WHMIS, and division procedures
Work cooperatively with custodial staff and school administration
Contribute to a safe, orderly, and respectful Catholic school environment
Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious custodial or building maintenance experience is considered an asset
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical ability to perform custodial duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, and safe work practices
Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
Alignment with the mission and values of Catholic education
ADDITIONAL ASSETSExperience working in a school or educational setting
WHMIS training or willingness to obtain
Familiarity with custodial equipment and floor care systems
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, respectful approach to teamwork
