Utilities Operator in Alberta

Pursue a fulfilling career as a Utilities Operator with Cold Lake's Infrastructure Services Department. This full-time position engages in the safe operation of water utilities and wastewater systems.

In this role, you will report to the Utilities Foreman and ensure the treatment and distribution of safe drinking water to the City’s residents. Key tasks include managing maintenance operations, conducting field samples, and maintaining compliance with Alberta Environment standards. Your contribution will be pivotal in ensuring the safety and reliability of municipal water services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain efficient water plant functions

• Repair and service water mains and sewer systems

• Ensure proper disinfection of drinking water

• Collect samples and perform relevant lab analyses

• Manage data and reporting per environmental standards

Requirements:

• Alberta Environment Level II certifications in water and wastewater

• Minimum 2 years of municipal utility experience

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Class 3 licence with Q endorsement required

• Safety training certificates such as CPR and H2S
