Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Saw Operators for a leading granite manufacturing company in Cold Spring, MN. In this role, you’ll operate saw equipment to make precise stone cuts while helping ensure finished products meet production specifications. If you enjoy hands-on work, solving mechanical problems, and working independently, this job could be a great fit.
What You'll Do as a Saw Operator- Load and unload saws using an overhead crane
- Read production tickets and determine the cuts required for each stone
- Index saw blades to the correct sizes and dimensions
- Level, wedge, and square stones on the saw cart using large hammers and pry bars
- Load pre-programmed profiles and input manual cuts as needed
- Monitor saw operations and make adjustments or corrections as needed
- Troubleshoot cutting issues and inspect completed work for accuracy
- General computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Ability to read work orders, production tickets, and dimensional drawings
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure using imperial and metric measurements
- Self-motivation, teamwork, and a commitment to following all safety protocols
- Willingness to perform a variety of duties and cross-train as needed
