A Patient Care Technician (PCT), under the direction of licensed personnel, performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for patients or a group of patients and performs clerical/receptionist services as required. The role involves working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Coldwater Regional Hospital

• Provides care appropriate to patient age (infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) coordinated by licensed personnel.
• Collects patient data as directed and reports changes to licensed nursing personnel.
• Delivers direct patient care as assigned.
• Assists with one-on-one patient observation.
• Actively participates in the healthcare team and follows hospital safety policy and confidentiality.
• Provides clerical support: answering phones, copying, stocking supplies, chart preparation.
• Demonstrates competency for electronic medical record documentation.
• Performs other job‑related duties as indicated.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification prior to direct care (training provided).
• Basic math skills, reading, writing, and communication.
• Effective interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions.
• Computer skills: input and retrieve information.

• Previous experience in a medical setting.
• Certifications:
  
  CNA, STNA, MA, EKG, CPT, ARRT.

• Personal protective equipment as required.
• Physical demands: movement throughout the hospital, standing, lifting light to medium weight items, tolerance to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
