Overview
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of Insight. Actively participates in creating an environment that fosters patient, family, physician, and employee satisfaction.
Ensures decisions are based on patient- and family-centered care philosophy, utilizing evidenced-based practices, and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Lead nursing team members in care as directed by the attending physician; collaborate with other health care providers.
- Adhere to the philosophy and policies of Insight; promote patient, family, physician, and employee satisfaction.
- Ensure care decisions are patient- and family-centered, based on evidence-based practices, and focused on safety and quality outcomes.
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. Functions within the full scope of nursing practice as defined by the state Board of Nursing and applicable accrediting bodies.
Education and Licensure- Education:
Complete the required continuing education hours for the state licensure period (e.g., twenty-five contact hours; at least 2 hours on pain and pain symptom management; at least 1 hour on implicit bias training). - License:
Current State license as a Registered Nurse. - Certification:
Current CPR training; specialty certifications as required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) preferred.
