Domiciliary Care Worker
Location:
Various locations across Northern Ireland
Reports To:
Care Coordinator / Registered Manager
Job Purpose:
A Domiciliary Care Worker provides essential support to individuals in their own homes, assisting with personal care, daily living tasks, and promoting independence while ensuring dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care & Support Assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Supporting with mobility and use of aids (e.g., hoists, walking frames). Assisting with medication reminders in line with care plans.
2. Household & Practical Support Preparing and serving meals and drinks according to dietary requirements. Performing light domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. Supporting service users with household management as needed.
3. Emotional & Social Support Encouraging social engagement and companionship. Promoting independence and dignity at all times.
4. Health & Safety Compliance Observing and reporting any changes in health or well-being to supervisors. Following infection control procedures and maintaining a clean environment. Adhering to safeguarding policies to protect vulnerable individuals.
5. Record Keeping & Communication Completing accurate care records and reporting concerns promptly. Communicating effectively with service users, families, and colleagues.
Essential Criteria : A caring and compassionate attitude. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping. Desirable Criteria:
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Full training will be provided Enhanced AccessNI check required. Additional Information:
Enhanced AccessNI check required. Training provided, including manual handling, first aid. Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
