AboutThe Role
The Home:
Bohill Care Home is a modern, purpose-built facility located just outside Coleraine Town Centre, surrounded by countryside. Our home features 80 spacious single en-suite bedrooms across two floors with gardens for residents to enjoy. We offer specialised care across three units:
Dementia Nursing, Dementia Residential, and Frail Elderly Nursing, focused on compassionate, person-centred support. This role is fully supernumerary. The Deputy Manager is part of the Home Management Team, supporting regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and a culture of continuous improvement. The Deputy Manager leads by example, upholding high standards of care while supporting and guiding the team.
- Assist the Home Manager in the overall management and administration of the Home, including staffing, budgeting and regulatory compliance, and ensuring the highest level of clinical care.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the team, including recruitment, training, performance management and team development.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes in collaboration with the Home Manager and care teams.
- Maintain positive contact with commissioners and referrers to develop confidence in service provision.
- Carry out, or ensure that, all risk assessments are carried out in a rigorous and timely manner.

Skills and ExperienceRequired Criteria
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Sound working knowledge of the statutory requirements associated with the care of the elderly
- Active NMC pin as a Registered General Nurse with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and at least 2 years’ experience as Nurse in Charge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Competence using a range of IT programmes and packages
- The Right to Work in the UK
