This varied and rewarding role offers the chance to lead on key work streams, influence strategic decisions and gain experience across all aspects of programme delivery, evaluation and legacy development. You will help shape how the programme's achievements are captured, shared and sustained, while supporting activities ranging from monitoring and reporting to funders, contractor management and partner coordination, through to the delivery of knowledge exchange initiatives, conferences, webinars and other dissemination activities.
With opportunities to work across finance, governance, audit processes, Welsh language initiatives and nature connection projects, this role offers a unique chance to make a tangible contribution to one of Wales' most significant conservation programmes while developing valuable programme management and stakeholder engagement experience. This post is fixed term until 31st October 2027 with the possibility of extension or permanency.

About us Natur am Byth is Wales' largest natural heritage and public engagement programme, bringing together nine leading environmental charities and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to tackle species decline and inspire more people to connect with nature. Backed by over £8 million of investment from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Welsh Government and other major supporters, the programme is delivering ambitious conservation action across Wales to protect 67 threatened species while creating lasting benefits for communities and future generations.
At the heart of this nationally significant partnership is the NRW central team, a small, supportive and highly collaborative group that leads programme management, communications, stakeholder engagement, evaluation and governance across all 11 projects. Joining the team offers a unique opportunity to work alongside passionate conservation professionals, influence one of the most ambitious nature recovery programmes in Wales, and help shape a lasting legacy for both people and nature.
You will report to the Programme Manager and work closely with four experienced colleagues, partners and stakeholders from across the conservation sector, contributing to work that has a real and measurable impact. Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK's heritage. What you will do Support the Programme Manager (Team Leader) in the overall coordination, planning and delivery of the Natur am Byth programme and legacy.
Lead and coordinate the implementation of the programme Impact Measurement Framework, to monitor, evaluate and report on our impacts and the difference that we make for people and natural heritage. Complete quarterly progress (output) monitoring across the 11 partner-led, place-based NaB species recovery projects and the nationally coordinated work packages (arts engagement, conservation grazing), reporting to our funders, partners and internal stakeholders.
