Trainee Parts Advisor (Coleraine)

Dennison Commercials Ltd is the sole Volvo Truck & Bus dealer and the leading provider of heavy commercial vehicles in Northern Ireland. We are currently recruiting a Trainee Parts Advisor to join our expanding team at our Coleraine Dealerpoint.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a person to grow your career with an extremely successful business and to develop your skillset by learning and working alongside our established parts department. Whilst this is an entry-level position, there are very real prospects for career progression within 12-18 months.

By assisting the existing Parts team in the above you will gain knowledge and experience, create and develop relationships internally at Dennisons, as well as build an understanding of our customer base, the commercial vehicle industry and the Volvo product.

Once the relevant training and experience has been established, it is anticipated that the role will develop into a full parts role, working within the Newry depot team to ensure the smooth running of the parts department.

Initially the successful candidate will carry out duties
such as the following:

• Assisting goods in by unloading and sorting deliveries
• Allocating stock to correct areas of the store
• Picking parts orders from the store for customers and internal workshop
• Assisting with stock takes
• Assisting with parts and warranty returns in line with Volvo processes
• Updating internal computer systems
• Other general parts administration duties

Family-run business, Dennison Commercials has been serving the transport industry for over 50 years. As well as being one of the longest established Volvo Truck & Bus dealers in the UK and Ireland, Dennisons is also the appointed JCB dealer in Northern Ireland & Donegal for JCB construction, industrial, and access equipment.

The Dennison Group has depots based in Ballyclare, Newry, Dungannon, and Coleraine. We also have a Commercial Vehicle Bodyshop located in Ballyclare and our JCB dealership is located in Templepatrick.

• Minimum of GCSE English and Maths, grade A-C
• An excellent level of computer literacy is essential, a qualification in ICT would be desirable but is not essential
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) at all levels, both internally and externally, in a professional manner (must be confident with telephone communication)
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently
• Possess a willingness to learn and succeed
• Be open and honest at all times and always work with integrity
• Be willing to accept change and have the ability to be flexible to adapt accordingly as business needs require
• Be a fast learner

• Previous experience working within a business environment would be highly desirable
• Although not essential, some existing mechanical knowledge would be advantageous or a strong desire to learn and work within the commercial vehicle industry.
