Are you a Site Engineer with experience delivering earthworks, drainage and roadworks on major civil engineering projects?
Do you enjoy taking ownership of setting out, coordinating site activities and ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently?
Location:
HS2 - Coleshill South
Rate: £450/day Umbrella - Inside IR35
Duration:
Until October 2026 (with potential extension until year-end)
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer to join a leading contractor delivering one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects as part of the HS2 earthworks team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of earthworks, drainage and roadworks packages, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards. You'll be responsible for setting out, coordinating site activities and supporting the wider delivery team to keep works progressing efficiently.
While previous HS2 experience is advantageous, the hiring manager is primarily looking for candidates with strong practical experience delivering large-scale earthworks and civil engineering projects.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Site Engineer delivering earthworks, drainage, or roadworks
Strong setting out experience
SMSTS
Full UK Driving Licence
Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
Excellent communication and organisational skills
BEng / HND / HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out setting out and surveying activities
Update machine control models and engineering information
Coordinate day-to-day site activities and support site delivery
Prepare Task Briefing Sheets (TBS)
Order materials and coordinate site deliveries
Ensure labour, plant and materials are available to meet programme requirements
Maintain accurate daily site diaries and site records
Monitor quality and ensure works are completed in accordance with specification
Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
Liaise with subcontractors and the wider delivery team
Working hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required. A pool vehicle will be provided for travel between sites.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term HS2 project with an immediate start and the potential for contract extensions.
