Position: 2:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

We are excited to be recruiting for a highly experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in the Coleshill area.

About the role:
  • Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant position (5 days per week)
  • Starting from the new academic year
  • Providing dedicated 2:1 support for two pupils in Reception during the mornings and within thier SEND base in the afternoons
  • Supporting pupils with learning activities, communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Delivering targeted support and interventions in line with individual pupil needs
  • Working closely with the Class Teacher, SENDCo, and wider SEND team
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage positively in school life

What we're looking for:

We're looking for a highly experienced, passionate, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant who has a strong background supporting children with additional needs within a primary school setting. The successful candidate will be patient, proactive, resilient, and committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

You will:

  • Have substantial experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Have experience working within EYFS and Reception settings
  • Be confident delivering personalised 2:1 support + able to put in structure to achieve outcomes that are needed of the pupils
  • Have a strong understanding of a range of SEND needs and effective intervention strategies
  • Be able to support communication, emotional regulation, social development, and learning outcomes
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Adapt your approach to meet individual needs and challenges
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive team
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills
  • Be reliable, professional, and committed to safeguarding children
  • Be passionate about inclusive education and helping every child reach their full potential
